AKVIS Sketch – Convert a Photo to a Pencil Sketch or Watercolor Painting
Load a photo into AKVIS Sketch, pick one of many presets, and presto, you have a nice looking pencil sketch or watercolor painting. That is, in a nutshell, the sort of functionality you can expect to get from AKVIS Sketch: turn photos into pencil sketches or watercolor paintings.
AKVIS Sketch is available as a standalone application for Microsoft’s Windows operating system and for Apple’s Mac OS X.
AKVIS Sketch is also available as a plugin for Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Corel Paint Shop Pro, and other photo editing software.
The main panel on AKVIS Sketch’s interface presents the photo you choose to load into the application. To the right there’s a panel that presents several editing options: pick a preset, select background mode, choose to add some custom text, generate a canvas, and so on. At the top there’s a toolbar that displays buttons for several features and functions: open image, save image, batch processing, show/hide lines, and more.
It must be mentioned here that AKVIS Sketch’s interface features two display modes:
Express Mode – an extremely simplified interface that presents a minimal set of parameters.
Advanced Mode – all parameters are displayed on the interface.
Lots of parameters are offered so that you can get a cool looking sketch: imitate a color pencil drawing; adjust lightness, angle, dispersion, stroke thickness, uniformity, curvature, and more; pick one of many presets; choose between classic or artistic style; three background modes; add custom text to the image, adjust the text formatting; generate a canvas for your drawing; preview the drawing; view a timeline of the shots created during image processing; save the drawing locally, print out the drawing, share the drawing on social networking sites; batch processing.
AKVIS Sketch is free to use for a trial period of 10 days. The prompt that shows up when you launch the trial version tells you how many days are left in your trial. It also allows you to choose one of several editions: Home, Home Deluxe, Business.
Thanks to AKVIS Sketch you can easily turn a digital photo into a stunning pencil sketch.
Pros

Several AKVIS Sketch editions are available: Home Plugin, Home Standard, Home Deluxe, and Business.
